Normal Blood Sugar – A1C Diabetes

Normal Blood Sugar

Don’t sugar coat it.

So what is considered “normal blood sugar”? Keep in mind that different people may have different “normals” so it is very important to have a doctor help you assess what is right for you. With that being said, normal blood sugar levels after eating are below 100 mg/dL following a fast of 8 hours. And two hours after eating they’re less than 140 mg/dL.

In terms of A1C, your long range barometer, an A1C level below 5.7 percent is considered normal. If your A1C lands between 5.7 and 6.4 percent you are considered prediabetic. And if you go over 6.5 your doctor may diagnose you with Type 2 diabetes.
